Description

Do you need an engaging activity to help your students practice the prefixes kilo, hecto, deca, deci, centi and milli? These puzzles make a great center, intervention activity or morning work, and will engage students in building words using those key prefixes! The activity focuses on the Greek and Latin prefixes that make up our number system and the metric system with an engaging puzzle activity. Each puzzle includes three pieces: a prefix, a root word and a definition. There is an Answer Key that you can provide to help students check their answers and make these completely independent!

Recognize volume as an attribute of solid figures and understand concepts of volume measurement.
Recognize that in a multi-digit whole number, a digit in one place represents ten times what it represents in the place to its right. For example, recognize that 700 ÷ 70 = 10 by applying concepts of place value and division.
