    Description

    Are you looking for an engaging unit that will teach your students about the Greek and Latin prefixes that connect to our metric system and number system? This bundle includes a easy-to-use lesson plans and an assessment. The unit includes a full week of engaging activities, games and practice pages to teach students the prefixes kilo, hecto, deca, deci, centi and milli. The included prefix puzzles are another interactive way to reinforce the target vocabulary and deepen students' understanding of the prefixes and the math concepts. Perfect for ELLs or for any student who needs to increase their math vocabulary!

    This unit includes both a PDF to print AND the EASEL version! The prefix puzzles are printable so that students can interact. Each puzzle includes three pieces: a prefix, a root word and a definition. There is an Answer Key that you can provide to help students check their answers and make these completely independent!

    The unit focuses on the Greek and Latin prefixes that make up our number system and the metric system with engaging activities like Would you Rather? Task, Cards, a Word Sort and Beat the Clock! It also includes printable Practice Pages and an assessment! Everything you need for a great week of vocabulary instruction is included!

    Your students will be engaged with the math vocabulary and get plenty of practice speaking, reading and writing these key math terms. Along the way, they will deepen their understanding of this math content and how prefixes can change the meaning of root words!
