What educators are saying

This is one of my favorite novel studies. This resource was very helpful when it came to planning what we were going to do each day. Thanks!
Worked perfectly! The skills were "just enough" for them. Not overwhelming, but challenged them to truly understand deeper meanings in the book.

Description

This is a new and improved version of my comprehensive book group packet based on the novel Poppy, by Avi. It features guiding questions for students to complete as they read the book. It can be used to support comprehension and discuss during guided reading lessons as well as extension activities at the end of the packet.

This is a great book for 3rd to 6th graders! It is a great book to improve vocabulary and work with a wide variety of reading strategies. It is an Guided Reading level S / DRA level 40, but could easily be used with students at higher levels as well.

The kids always love it because Poppy is a relatable hero and Ereth is funny and edgy. It is the first in a great series of fantasy books, and can be used to get students interested in a great author, Avi.

Includes an answer guide to make assessment quick and easy.
