Description

Your students will love this unit on plant and animal needs! Completely aligned with NGSS standard K-LS1, students gain an understanding of what living things need to survive by hands-on activities, presentations, and even a fun game of memory!

The unit begins with a classroom experiment using two plants; one in the sunlight and one in the dark.

As the experiment takes place over two weeks, students use their little plant and animal booklets to learn all the information they need. A beautiful 11 page PowerPoint makes it super easy for you and engaging for them!

Next, students show what they know by creating a poster of plant and animal needs; great to hang in the classroom or hallway to show off student work!

Next, students learn about different types of shelters before going outside and making a real bird's nest!

Finally, game time! Students play memory game as groups to find plant, animal and survival need pairs. As they find pairs, students categorize them on their game board.

Unit comes with full lesson plans, video links, teacher pages, daily warm-ups and much much more!
