What educators are saying

Another great resource from DiGiGoods! My students have enjoyed this activity and remained engaged throughout!
This is a great resource for students to practice picking out the events on the plot structure. This was a great short and fun lesson to cover plot structure, conflict, and character.

Description

Engage your students with this fun literary workshop for use with Pix Short Film, Defective Detective. This workshop focuses on Inferences, Plot, and Internal & External Conflict. Tried and true winner with students and teachers!

FILM SUMMARY: A detective with a "defective" overreactive imagination tries to solve a case, but instead ends up angering an old lady who he thinks is in trouble. He picks up on all of the wrong clues and believes she is being assaulted, but in reality, she is only trying to make soup in her kitchen. This film is perfect for studying internal and external conflict because much of the conflict is in the detective's imagination, but he creates external conflict by acting upon his thoughts.
