✅ How I Use This Resource (Teaching Notes)

In each Peer Editing Checklist, your students will understand what to write in an informational essay. Here’s what your students will be able to identify in detail:

Introduction paragraph

  • Hook
  • topic
  • Facts / Details

Body of each paragraph

  • Supporting topic’s order
  • Facts / Details

Conclusion paragraph

  • Restate topic
  • Knockout

Your students will love getting out of their seats, becoming engaged in reading another classmate's essay, and then discussing feedback. Students won't even realize how much they're learning from reading another student’s essay! This will build confidence in students over time.

Prep is quick and easy... Just print the student pages, model for the students, and you're ready for a fun and engaging class! Plus a structured checklist makes this resource perfect for partner work, centers, stations, or rotations!
