Parent Brochure: Encouraging Literacy at Home

There are many things that parents do, and can do at home which help develop articulate and literate children. This brochure lists suggestions for parents including reading aloud, using current events and TV programs to develop vocabulary, limiting non-productive TV and Screen time; Using times during car travel to encourage reading and even mathematical thinking, and making good use of your public library.

Consider having this brochure available where parents pick up children, on Back-to-School nights, during parent-teacher conferences, or to send home with newsletters or other communication.
