PYP CONCEPTS: An updated set of PYP concept cards reflecting changes being bought in the enhanced PYP. New drawings and a set of ideas about how to use visual literacy to support inquiry learning and connecting learner prior knowledge to new class knowledge and understandings.

In the PYP: Principles to Practice, conceptual based inquiry and teaching is listed as a key approach to learning and teaching. It aids the development of transdisciplinary inquiries.

Concepts are understandings that cross time, place, culture and subject. Imagine that you had a series of telescopes or lenses that when you looked them you would see the world in a very particular way. This is what concepts help learners do, see that regardless of
disciplines or subjects all things are connected and can be viewed in particular ways through conceptual understandings.

This resource should not substitute carefully reading and comprehension of the PYP Principles into Practice resources and training being offered by the IBO.
