    Description

This bundle includes two sample writing pieces in the genre of opinion writing (also called persuasive or argumentative writing). Students will learn the components of persuasive texts as they read two engaging pieces: "Zoos: Not a Good Place for Elephants" and "The Iditarod: A Race Worth Continuing." These pieces will capture students' attention and teach them the components of a solid persuasive piece.

The products in this bundle include not only the sample writing pieces, but also a checklist with important components of opinion writing. This checklist lends itself well to discussions about what will make a strong writing piece, and students can use the checklist for their own writing.
