Heritage Spanish speakers who are able to write and read 70-100% in Spanish. Spanish 3 or 4 for Heritage Speakers

• At the end of the handout, students will have to write a short summary of what they learned from the article.
• All instructions are in Spanish.
• Two documents: digital version (link to the article is attached) and printer-friendly version Word documents
• This assignment can be done independently by the student
• On-task students without any interruption could complete this in 30-45 minutes

• Reading

• Interpreting articles in Spanish
• Recalling information from an article in Spanish through "summary writing". If they have been taught, they can practice utilizing transitional phrases such as, "En primer lugar, en segundo lugar, para continuar, en fin"
