Mindful Eating Reflection
- Word Document File
Description
Help students practice mindfulness while eating. This guided organizational chart helps students focus all of their senses on what they are experiencing while cooking and eating food. This is an activity that helps students identify, categorize and use vocabulary related to food. It focuses on 5 categories: what students see, hear, smell, feel and taste. It comes with a second page word bank. The word bank provides students with helpful words that they can use in describing their food with new vocabulary and adjectives concerning food. Use the word bank as a way to introduce students to new vocabulary and adjectives. This can be a helpful resource for students who are English as a Second Language students who are being exposed to new vocabulary for the first time. It can also be a fun exercise for the general education classroom/Family Consumer Science class when learning about different cultures or holiday foods.
