Description

This step by step literary analysis workshop teaches students the elements and structure of literary analysis using outline, fun sticky notes, graphic organizers, instructions, mentor texts, video links, an analysis of the short film THE PRESENT, and plenty of space to build each paragraph.

USE WITH ANY OF THESE FORMATS: GOOGLE SLIDES, PAPER, EASEL!

Students will be guided through the entire process with clear, user friendly instructions. Each paragraph is a color-coded workshop of its own, making it easy to teach in manageable chunks, while allowing motivated students to move forward and self-pace.

Because this tutorial is so thorough, many students will be able to take off on their own and work through the whole process, producing an excellent literary essay independently. Literary analyses are likely to show up on most state tests, so make sure your students are prepared to analyze literature like a pro!

MAJOR BENEFITS OF GOING PAPERLESS:

  • Save time NOT printing hundreds of pages
  • Save tons of paper
  • Cleaner classroom- No bins of papers to collect, store, and distribute
  • Self-pacing and independent learning at a new level!
  • Differentiation can be far greater and easy because you can provide video/audio links, graphics, remove or add slides for certain students, and generally customize to meet learning styles.
  • Students can NEVER lose their work because Google saves every few seconds
  • Grade from anywhere without carrying anything except a laptop
  • Student collaboration is the BEST with Google! They can literally all work together or in small groups/pairs (only on the parts that you choose). There is no learning like learning from peers.
  • You can click into a student's work as they are working and offer comments real time.
  • Students can never claim you lost their paper.
