Description

This tabbed flip book is a flexible way to introduce (or review) the levels of organization from cell to tissues, organs, organ systems, and organisms.

Students will construct a five-paged tabbed booklet of information. Each page covers a single topic. The booklet includes a cover.

The pages are:

Cells

Tissues

Organs

Organ Systems

Organisms.

Each page includes information and examples for both humans and plants. Each page has black/white illustrations that students may enjoy coloring.

The booklet is sized to fit on a composition notebook page with room to spare.

It also works well as a take-home study guide before a test or quiz. A teacher guide/key is included.

Additional Optional pages are included (for gluing to the reverse side of each flipbook page). The additional optional pages are intended to support ELA/CCSS standards for reading and writing in science. The optional pages are:

1. Is Skin A Tissue Or An Organ? (Using text evidence and interpreting diagrams)

2. Is A Paramecium An Organism? (Developing a written argument with supporting evidence from text)

3. Vocabulary Hidden Message Word Search – Students write the vocabulary word to match provided definitions. Then they find the words in a puzzle, and uncover a hidden message about the levels of organization in living things. (Using grade appropriate science vocabulary.)

4. Human Tissues Foldable – Provides additional information about human body tissues in a guided note format.

Any of the optional pages could also be used as bell work/warm up activities or brief homework assignments.

Please see the thumbnails and preview to make an informed purchase decision.
