Please provide: A media player or computer to listen to the audio links, a printed version of the worksheet packet, scissors, and colored pencils.
This educational resource pack for students with Mental Health or Medical Conditions includes:
Working with numbers 11 – 19 to gain foundations for place value.
Compose and decompose numbers from 11 to 19 into ten ones and some further ones, e.g., by using objects or drawings
Record each composition or decomposition by a drawing or equation (e.g., 18 = 10 +8); (e.g., 18-10= 8)
Understand that these numbers are composed of a base of ten ones: with either one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, or nine ones added to a base of ten ones.
The student decomposes numbers by separating the based of 10 using pennies and dimes. Cut-out pennies and dimes are available if real pennies and dimes are not. With colored pencils the student should shade in the numbers and base of 10 on the number line provided. Equation charts are also on each problem for the student to fill out.
The questions get more difficult as the worksheets continue. For example, two step problems are given by the end of the set.
