Description

Do you want to add fun and excitement to your Japanese class? Then this Japanese Game with lots of holidays, festivals and Japan's culture is the perfect resource for you!

Karuta is one of the most popular games in Japan. It has been a traditional game for Japanese people for hundreds of years. This Japanese Cards game is a fun way to introduce students to the cultural background of Japan. You can even play it during breaks!

This game provides a comprehensive way to assist teachers who wish to teach all aspects of Japanese culture, including celebrating holidays and life in daily Japan for both adults and children.

Instructions: Karuta is a Japanese card game in which two sets of cards are used: the yomifuda "reading cards" and the torifuda "grabbing cards." Students race each other to determine which grabbing card corresponds to the clue from the reading card and then to claim the correct card first.

This is a game where you need to print, cut (and laminate) the cards. There are 40 cards in total for 20 Japanese festivals/ holidays/ seasonal events. Each Japanese holiday has a reading card and a grabbing card.

Your students need little to none knowledge about the Japanese holidays, as the cards are intuitive and they have matching pictures. The cards are about Japan's festivals and can be used to explain Japanese culture.

Included:

  • 20 reading yomifuda cards
  • 20 grabbing torifuda cards
