Description

Get students practicing close reading and making inferences with this short inference reading passage activity for the short story “The Feather Pillow” by Horacio Quiroga. This is an engaging horror tale that students will enjoy reading and thinking about.

Students will read the story, stopping at the designated stop signs to answer inference and evidence-based questions. Questions ask students to make inferences, support inferences with evidence, make predictions, and infer the meaning of vocabulary words using context clues.
