AIM: How did the Rwandan Genocide affect the Tutsi people of Africa?
ACTIVITY 1 -- DO NOW
Students will complete a chart with the dates and tallies of a few different genocides. Students should note how many lives were lost in such a quick amount of time during the Rwandan Genocide compared to other genocides before it.
ACTIVITY 2 -- TEXT ANALYSIS
Students will analyze a text about the topic and answer questions. The text will include key information that scaffolds for the lesson.
ACTIVITY 3 -- TEXT ANALYSIS
Students will analyze a text about the Rwandan Genocide in 1994 and answer questions.
ACTIVITY 4 -- ASSESSMENT
Students will choose one of two options for assessment to submit on looseleaf.
