Description
This is an ideal activity for the Technology Specialist to collaborate with a classroom teacher or for a classroom teacher to infuse technology and computer skills into his or her science lessons.
"How Old are You on Other Planets?" is one part of a larger activity we offer called "Exploring Our Solar System. In this particular activity, students will calculate how old they would be on other planets based on the length of each planet’s orbit around the sun and answer questions based on their data analysis. They can increase their background knowledge by viewing a short cartoon video that explains why we would be different ages on each planet due to the length of its orbit around the sun.
After the online activity, students can enter their data in a preformatted spreadsheet that autogenerates a bar chart.
If you are teaching at a Google Apps school, no worries! Instructions are included to convert the Excel file to a Google Sheet file.
