Description
This well designed handout provides an introduction to hooks. It describes why hooks are necessary at the top, details the 9 major hooks, and then provides an example of each one. I have personally used this handout every time I introduce introductory paragraphs with my students. It covers: Startling Statement, Anecdote/Scenario, Quote from Literature, Analogy, Quote from Another Source, Philosophical Musing, Rhetorical Question, Humorous Musing, and Shocking Statistic.
