There are 12 worksheets (with additional differentiated versions of all but one of them), including map exercises, gap-fill exercises, translation tasks, basic comprehension, a hidden word puzzle, and a crossword puzzle. Vocabulary support pages in different versions are included for display or printing if required. My French basics resources suit students beginning French and near beginners in Primary / Elementary and Middle School (Grade 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8), Core French, FSL etc, and may suit others, depending on experience. These worksheets cover a range of phrases for orientation in town (such as continuez tout droit, tournez à droite, prenez la première rue à gauche, and using prepositions of location such as à côté de and en face de etc.). The worksheets and puzzles are at various levels of challenge, including differentiated versions of almost all, to provide plenty of variety for you to select the most appropriate activities for the range of ages and abilities that you teach.

• KEY VOCABULARY: Vocabulary support pages to display or print for students that require it. There's a French-English and English-French list of the places in town (buildings and stores) that feature in the worksheets, three further pages of topic vocabulary and phrases in list format, and an illustrated word mat of key questions and phrases. Please note that these support pages are also included in some of my related resources, such as the Les Directions Role-Play Cards packet, and the Les Directions Printable Games packet.

• WORKSHEETS: 10 differentiated worksheets. Includes gap-fill tasks, translation pages, using maps, drawing activities and reading comprehension. Choose the pages that suit your students best. The 1-star versions are a little easier. Rather than there being a second version of Worksheet 3, you can differentiate by adding the second (more challenging) side of the sheet for older, more able or more experienced students, but just use the first side for others.

• PUZZLES: There is a hidden word puzzle and crossword puzzle. The crossword puzzle is differentiated, with the 1-star version providing a little more support. The crossword is included in an additional black and white version. Please note this puzzle does not include accents.
