Description

Your students will love researching Foodservice Industry Careers using this mini unit. Most career research projects are very broad, however, this focuses on jobs found in the industry and is appropriate for culinary arts, restaurant management, and other hospitality classes alike.

Students begin by learning about the industry and then will determine their personality type and what careers are a good fit based on their interests, strengths, and weaknesses. Next, they explore how their personality type fits into the workplace and then research industry specific careers (ranging from cooks, food lawyers, photographers, etc.). Finally, they will create a culminating project based on their findings.

Timeframe: 3 double block class periods or 5 single block class periods

*Digital* and print options available- you choose what works best for you!

Little to no prep on your part- just print and go or post to a learning management system like Google Classroom.

What I love about this project is that students are exposed to many careers and jobs they might have not normally considered. The Foodservice Industry has such a varying degree of careers and this is the perfect research and exploration project for students to broaden their scope of future career options.
