What educators are saying

My students worked on the Business model Canvas section of this project and really enjoyed the layout and the time frame that the project requires. It was a very beneficial purchase.

This full year bundle of Entrepreneurship Projects contains all the essential elements needed to help your students understand how to run a successful business venture. It gives you turnkey projects that will walk through the process from business idea formation straight through the creation of a final business plan, with everything in between. Also included in this bundle are 9 Bonus Activities and Supplemental Materials (Details further down) that help make my Entrepreneurship class more successful, plus my personal timeline with some advice about what has worked well for me in the past, as well as some things I tend to avoid.

***The preview contains the first 2-pages of each of the major projects***

This complete set includes the following 6 projects:

    1) Business Model Canvas Project: The Business Model Canvas is an essential tool used to help formulate and elaborate on many of the key elements needed to create a successful and profitable business venture. It is also a common tool used in many of the most successful university business programs across the country. This project is created for a high school student in mind, but could easily be tweaked for college students or even middle school students.

    2) Market Research Project: This project consists of two parts. The first part involves each group sending out surveys about their product/service as well as doing focus groups and one-on-one interviews with potential users. The second part of the project expects them to do extensive research on the competition by analyzing the competitor’s product offerings, website/app, social media presence, and user reviews.

    3) Marketing and Advertising Project: Asks the groups to create SMART goals, a logo, a slogan, and a website, as well as a social media campaign and commercial for their product.

    4) Financial Plan Start-Up Costs Mini Project: This mini project requires them to research and analyze all the costs they anticipate incurring to get their business ready to start selling their product/service. They will give detailed descriptions of their anticipated expenses as well as create a spreadsheet that lays out their complete list of those expenses.

    5) Shark Tank Project: The event that my students look forward to more than any each year is my annual Shark Tank Event. I always try to get some of the best entrepreneurs in the area to volunteer a night to come watch and judge my students as they pitch their business ideas. This project walks through all the steps I require my students to take in preparation for the big event. The students are asked to prepare a 5 minute pitch, a slideshow presentation, a list of questions to prepare for, and ideally, create a prototype of their product or service to display for the sharks. Whether you are planning on making this a massive production, or a small class activity, this project includes everything you need to make it successful!

    6) Business Plan Project: The most important element of any start-up business is the Business Plan. Not only does this encapsulate everything you hope to accomplish with your new business, but it also presents to your employees and potential investors the preparation and goal of your business venture. This project helps walk students through all the essential elements necessary including an Executive Summary, Business Description, Industry Analysis, Marketing Plan, Operations Plan, and Financial Plan. Also, the project includes the option to have students in each group graded separately if you choose.

    9 Bonus Components:

In addition to the major projects listed above, the set also includes the following 9 bonus components (Be sure to download the bonus files with purchase):

    1) Project Timeline: Breakdown of the order in which I complete each project/activity as well as some recommendations on what has worked well for me in the past.

    2) Business Idea Template: To start the school year, I require each student to submit one unique business idea every two weeks for a total of 4 business ideas (I've done as many as 8 in the past, but 4 seems to produce the best results). This template helps them form a fully developed business idea and requires them to research any potential direct competitors to ensure no exact versions of their product/service already exist.

    3) Pitch Yourself Presentation: My favorite activity of the year where the students create a pitch that they present 1-on-1 to every other person in the class in advance of them choosing their business group members. This presentation is meant as a precursor for students selecting their group members

    4) Group Member Selection Form: Many teachers would prefer to pick the groups themselves, but I prefer to give the students the chance to “choose” their partners by filling out this group member choice form. It gives them some say while ultimately leaving the group choices up to you.

    5) Group Contract: Once the groups are formed, the students are required to put in writing a detailed list of expectations of each group member and the group as a whole, as well as a strike system they come up with for members who are not carrying their weight in the group.

    6) Concept Proposal Form: This assignment has them give a more detailed overview of the product or service they plan on developing over the course of the school year, including detailed breakdown of competitors, Porter's Five Forces Model, and unique value proposition, among other elements.

    7) Group Member Contribution Form: To ensure every member is contributing a relatively equal percentage, the students complete the contribution form at the end of each project.

    8) Shark Tank Judge's Scoring Template: Gives your Shark Tank judges a rubric/template to help them decide which group has come up with the strongest pitch. It also allows them the opportunity to give each group feedback after the event.

    9) Shark Tank Event Checklist: I developed a checklist of all the tasks I need to do in preparation for the Shark Tank Event in my school's theater. I spent dozens of hours creating and tinkering with the list, so while every school is different, this will undoubtedly save you time and stress doing it from scratch.

If you have purchased this product, please leave a rating and any feedback! Since this is a new product, I am always looking for ways to improve my store and your input is important.
