Description
Students love Pixel Art and this resource will get your younger elementary students on the bandwagon! Whether in a classroom or lab, these spring themed pictures are perfect for younger elementary students without being too challenging or frustrating. The included instructional video works with both full class or independent learners. Your students will learn what a spreadsheet is used for and be able to identify rows, colums, and cells. A demonstration of how to fill cells with color in both Google Sheets and MS Excel, along with a few corny jokes will help your students learn how to complete their first pixel art project on their own!
Included are:
- PDF Teacher Instructions
- Link to Google Slides file with Instructional Video and Google Sheets links for six Google Sheet files
- Separate copy of Instructional Video (to be used if your school system blocks the linked version and used separately)
- Excel versions of all six pictures
- Directions for all six pictures embedded on preformatted spreadsheets
- Optional Printable Student Directions for the six spreadsheets
- Answer Keys
★ Please note:
These activities have been used successfully with students as young as kindergarten during the second half of the school year. If you are a tech or STEM lab teacher, ask your students' classroom teacher to help you determine if the kids are ready.
