Description
In this communicative lesson, students are introduced to Germanic mythology by learning about different dragon types.
Four main dragon types are introduced with simple vocabulary and grammar, encouraging students to explore this high interest topic in the target language. The lesson also includes the Germanic roots of some well-known dragons in literature (Smaug and the story of Eustace Scrubbs in Voyage of the Dawn Treader).
It includes listening, reading, speaking and writing activities to practice the vocabulary. The extension activity includes details on how I introduce a pet dragon into our class, encouraging further writing beyond the original lesson.
