Practice writing constructed response to text with this RACE writing strategy resource. This product is designed to help Upper Elementary students practice the RACE writing strategy. There are 10 writing topics with links to online articles. Each writing prompt comes in a scaffolded and non-scaffolded writing template providing 20 pre-made prompts ready to use with editable sentence starters.

This product works well to introduce, review, or practice the RACE writing strategy. Each prompt has a link to an article on Wonderopolis.org. This site is free and does not require a login. It has many non-fiction, kid friendly articles to read or listen to for free.

How to use:

I have my students work on one prompt a week for Wonder Wednesdays, but you could use these prompts more frequently to practice the strategy.
