Curated List of 200+ Criminal Cases for Forensic Science research

In my Forensic Science course, my students create a major case research report at the end of the semester. The instructions and rubric for this assignment are posted in my TPT storefront.

For this assignment I created a list of cases - some famous, some lesser known - so that no two students have the same topic. There are suspects who are long since deceased, still imprisoned, some even exonerated and released. Over the years my list went from 35 cases to now 200. My list is now also organized into the following categories: Serial murder, Spree murder (including family annihilation), Mass murder, Cases with 2 offenders, Cases with Women offenders, Unsolved, and Uncategorized. This organization allows for student choice on a topic of their preference, or for the teacher to focus in on a specific type of case to support the course curriculum.

Keep in mind all of these cases have enough information readily available through online research to support a Forensic Science presentation, and they were specifically selected for that purpose.
