Description
This is a project for students to complete at home to better learn about each other, our world, and themselves. In class, each child will present about what his/her family does to celebrate a holiday. During the presentation, the students will share about the traditions they partake in- music, food, clothing, etc.
Students will also bring in an "artifact" to represent their holiday and tradtions.
I have included the graphic organizer for the students to complete at home, as well as the rubrics I will use to assess the students. Students will be assessed on their oral presentation, as well as their understanding of culture.
I have assigned each student a day when they will present. Presentations will last 5-10 minutes, depending on the "artifact" they bring. I have allowed time over the course of 5 days for students to present, but this would be flexible.
This project fulfills social studies and English Language Arts standards in the Common Core State Standards (CCSS).
