Description

This resource is a complete ANZAC Day Inquiry framework, supporting students to investigate the lives and locations of the Guildford ANZACS and an assembly with a song, poem and official order of ceremony which I have used with grade 3 and 5 classes. Tried and tested with everything you need. All references and resources are included with enough material to cover your entire HISTORY and added literacy outcomes.

Includes two comprehension lessons, quick tasks, research materials, full assembly and rubrics to track student data towards the literacy curriculum, HASS and CIVICS curriculum. Rubrics enable you to add your students' names and use for multiple lessons, adapting as you need.

The assembly enables all the classes in the school to be involved in the ceremony and in preparing for the day. Everything is included for your assembly including prop guidelines, song lyrics and links to the ANZAC biography cards. Extra resources will enable you to include participation from each of the classes, as well as provide a comprehensive unit of study leading up to ANZAC Day. The resource includes links to history sites, maps, online resources and a Reading comprehension task using the Western Australian book, The House That Was Built in A Day, by Valerie Everett. These resources are completely aligned with the Australian Curriculum and the judging standards of SCASA, enabling the integration of literacy, history, Art and Civics and Citizenship. Included is a comprehension task, Acrostic poem task and several opportunities to complete mapping and Western Australian history research projects. Suitable for grade 3-6.
