Checkbook Activity - Real Life Examples, Decimals

Trying to make math more meaningful for your students or give them a glimpse into using math in day to day life? This activity simulates having a checking account and all of the factors that contribute to the amount of money a person has.

The download of this activities includes:
-Directions for carrying out the activity
-Account ledgers (similar to what a checkbook ledger looks like)
-Activity cards (over 90 cards including starting balance, pay day, life activities)

This activity shows students the factors that contribute to money in a person's everyday life. It can aid in work with decimals, or practicing with a calculator.
