Description
This resource is an excellent means of discussing and assessing students' understanding of the arguments for and against ratification of the Constitution.
First, a PowerPoint leads students through a quick review of the Federalist Papers, emphasizing what are widely-considered to be the three most prominent articles: Federalist 10, 51, and 78. The presentation also includes an overview of the Antifederalist Papers.
The PowerPoint uses a Calibri font (which can be adjusted as needed), and is saved using an Office 97-2003 format. Each slide includes custom animation.
Students can then use the arguments in the Federalist Papers and Antifederalist Papers to create a poster that either supports or opposes ratification of the Constitution. Ideally, the poster uses a sheet of 11 x 17 paper. A suggested design for how the students should format their poster is included in the presentation.
I have also uploaded a rubric to assist in assessing completed posters.
I do offer the Federalist Papers and Ratification Poster separately on TpT, but am bundling them together here at a discount.
