Description
This is a unit I created to satisfy the Montana Indian Education for All (IEFA) program. I noticed many mathematics lessons focused on just tipis and incorrectly labeled them as cones. This was a variation of a project I did during third grade in Washington State. I've adapted it to apply to high school geometry, with some deeper essential questions.
Students use physical constructs and design to understand traditional First Nations home structures and relate them to Platonic Solids and efficient building.
