Description

These notes introduce matrices and matrix notation, rewriting a system of linear equations as an augmented matrix, row operations, and using row operations to get the augmented matrix into row-echelon form in order to solve the system of equations. There are enough problems within the guided notes to use an example for instruction, then have the students practice what was shown using the example. I used these notes in an honors precalculus course, but they could also be used in an advanced algebra 2 course or a non-honors precalculus course.
