    Description

This unit on the civilizations of Ancient India is aligned to middle school common core Language Arts History standards. It covers Geography, Religion, Achievements, Politics, Economics, and Social Structure.

    Built into each lesson are:

    -academic vocabulary

    -time for reflection and discussion

    -short academic writing activities

    -standards based questions with answers

This is an excellent resource to use either on its own or to supplement the text book. To better facilitate a multi-day presentation, there is a table of contents with hyperlinks to each section.

(It would be very easy to parlay the nine writing opportnunities scattered throughout the presentation into a five paragraph essay or report on Ancient India.)

I have been using this presentation with my students for the several years (and have shared it with other teachers). All the students have really enjoyed the visuals and the interactive nature built into the presentation. Everyone who has used this presentation reports that the students were highly focused and engaged during each lesson.

**This presentation includes ALL the ancient India products. To get a comprehensive view of the product, please look at the previews for my other products on ancient India, including my excerpt ANCIENT INDIA: The Mauryan and Gupta Empires

If you have a recent edition of Microsoft, you will be able to access the presenter’s notes on 124 of the slides. These notes give extra background information, references, and suggestions for movies, books, and interactive web sites on Ancient India. To check this feature out, when you preview the presentation right click on any slide and look for the presenter’s notes; if your software supports this feature, it will be available to you. *Presenter's Notes may inaccessible with earlier versions of Microsoft. *Presentations are not in an editable form.

*Due to copyright piracy, all of Ms. Amy’s Lessons are not editable. This means that it is both difficult and time consuming to alter the presentations.
