This "All About Me" one pager poster project is the perfect getting to know you activity for the first day of school or first week of school with your middle school and high school students. This EDITABLE, NO PREP, GOOGLE SLIDES 1 pager is a fun, creative, and engaging back to school activity that builds classroom community and encourages students to reflect on the people, experiences, and accomplishments that make them the unique person they are.

This activity is editable so you can meet the unique needs of your students. This activity is also formatted to be printable as well as digital.

What is included in this resource?

Teacher Guide: Directions for teachers facilitating this activity. Includes discussion prompts and step-by-step directions.

Two Versions for Easy Differentiation: Version 1 is a more scaffolded option with a one pager template and specific step-by-step directions for each of the 6 sections of the template. Version 2 is a more open-ended option with a description of the project requirements and a menu of 10 optional prompts students can choose from as they design their one pager on a blank sheet of paper.

Student-Friendly Directions: Clear directions to guide students through the activity. The directions include open-ended prompts to help guide students in sharing about themselves.

One-Pager Template: A blank template for creating the one pager and reflecting on the traits, hobbies, interests, and experiences that help make students who they are.

Scaffolded One-Pager Template: The blank template above with short directions in each space telling students where to put each requirement for the project. This is especially helpful for students with learning disabilities or students who are English Learners - simply print it on the back of the blank template.

One Pager Reflection: Students finish the project with a paragraph explaining the choices they made in creating their one pager and reflecting on the importance of building classroom community.

Rubric: A rubric to help students create quality one pagers that meet the assignment goals.

Designed for Digital / Distance Learning AND Print: A link to a separate file with JUST the slides your digital students need for the activity.

Activity Duration:

This activity will take about 1 hour.

Sample pacing from my own class:

- 15 minutes: Introduce the project and brainstorm

- 30-45 minutes: Complete the one pager

- (optional) 30-60 minutes (depending on class size): Present one pagers to the class.
