AP Language Argument Essay Planner

Planning a thoughtful essay that answers the prompt is difficult -- especially if students don't know how and where to start. With this assignment, students are asked to develop an argument by answering a released AP Language argument prompt with specific steps and strategies.

Students will learn to generate questions, brainstorm evidence, and reflect on the argument's relevance. My students shared with me that this outline process helped them see the parts of an argument and how they work together; they especially appreciated using it as they wrote their first essay.
