Description

Upper elementary students in Catholic schools or religious education learn a story about St. Valentine

This skit may be performed by teachers for their students , older children, or more advanced readers in a third, fourth or fifth grade classroom.

If you select 3 students to work on the skit, they will need to practice reading their lines and the staging before the actual performance. This may be an ideal activity for an advanced small group.

You will also need to photocopy the homing pigeon on heavy cardstock or trace it onto heavy cardboard.

The actor playing the Roman soldier might want to fashion a Roman helmet by covering a football helmet with aluminum foil.

Some sort of barricade or “jail” would be an excellent prop.
