Description
Introducing the sixth grade curriculum for beginning chorus/music elective. This resource includes 45 sequentially designed 40 minute music lessons, a pacing guide, vocabulary list, detailed curriculum goals, resource list, song list, and basic beginning chorus repertoire list. This curriculum is designed to follow music curriculum Grade 5, but can also be used as a stand-alone resource for students with no previous experience in music. Each lesson is in outline form and includes clearly written color coded goals, procedures, assessments, and 21st century skills. North Carolina Essential Standards are tied throughout each lesson. The curriculum synthesizes the basic elements of music through sight reading, choral warm-ups, music theory skills, music history from the beginning of time to 1400, music discussion questions and performance techniques, while promoting the love and joy of music.
