It teaches students the value of each place value in a decimal number up to ten thousandths. Students are shown how moving to the right each decimal place becomes 10 times smaller and to the left 10 times larger. There are 22 effective teaching strategies based on research used in this lesson. A 20 question assessment easel comes with this lesson. Students see the problems they missed and it is graded for the teacher. For best results, students should have white boards and dry erase markers.
