Description

Hello Super Stars!
I am so happy to present this to you! I am excited to use this in my classroom this year ;) There are 21 pages which accounts for every "week day" during November.

This is the third of several morning work packets. I loop through teaching 1st and 2nd grade every other year so I wanted something that at the beginning of the year would help my 1st graders transition into 2nd grade but also start intoducing/working on 2nd grade skills.

The common core standards for ELA and Math are incorporated within this packet. There is also a black and white cover (I let my students color it in to make it their own) In the October packet it will include:

- describing pictures
- Fix the sentence (spelling, grammer, punc.)
- Base ten number identification (including students being asked to create a number out of base ten blocks)
-HUGE focus on math word problems {some are student made to match a problem and some are figuring out problems that are already given}
- Circling pairs of items and deciding if they are even or odd
-Comprehension questions (look at the picture, choose the right sentence, read the sentence draw a picture to match etc)
- Phonics (finish the word, word families, rhyming words etc)
- Read the sentences and draw a picture to match.
- Choosing the correct tense for each sentence (i.e. ran vs. run)
- Fill in the correct word to fit the sentence
- skip counting starting at an off number
- Money {US only} "how much is there?" and also drawing pictures to make the amount.
- Place value {mystery number}
- practicing sufixes
- adding with no regrouping double digit numbers

There is so much more please check out the preview to see the format. Each page in November has 7 sections - the problems will get harder as the months go on.

Solve word problems involving dollar bills, quarters, dimes, nickels, and pennies, using $ and ¢ symbols appropriately. Example: If you have 2 dimes and 3 pennies, how many cents do you have?
Understand that the three digits of a three-digit number represent amounts of hundreds, tens, and ones; e.g., 706 equals 7 hundreds, 0 tens, and 6 ones. Understand the following as special cases:
100 can be thought of as a bundle of ten tens - called a “hundred.”
Add up to four two-digit numbers using strategies based on place value and properties of operations.
Use addition and subtraction within 100 to solve one- and two-step word problems involving situations of adding to, taking from, putting together, taking apart, and comparing, with unknowns in all positions, e.g., by using drawings and equations with a symbol for the unknown number to represent the problem.
