Description
**This resource is part of a Base Ten Centers BUNDLE. BUY the Bundle at a HUGE DISCOUNT!**
Use this engaging EARTH DAY themed base ten center during the month of April and May to help your students understand how to add and subtract multiples of ten from a two digit number. Have students read the equation and use a 100 chart or base ten blocks to add or take away a decade number from a 2-digit number. Students will then put a counter or clip a clothespin on the correct number.
Want to make this center even more engaging? Hang the cards up around the classroom and turn the activity into a write the room activity. I have included an accountability sheet in this resource so that students can write the number next to the corresponding image.
Easy Prep:
Print in color, laminate, cut, and set at a center with base ten manipulatives

Add within 100, including adding a two-digit number and a one-digit number, and adding a two-digit number and a multiple of 10, using concrete models or drawings and strategies based on place value, properties of operations, and/or the relationship between addition and subtraction; relate the strategy to a written method and explain the reasoning used. Understand that in adding two-digit numbers, one adds tens and tens, ones and ones; and sometimes it is necessary to compose a ten.
