What educators are saying

My students loved these activities. They are used for reinforcement and differentiation. These are great for small groups, independent work, and homework.
Thank you for creating this bundle for base ten. I like that this includes different options which I am using in my centers and small groups. Thanks again!

    Description

Print and prep this bundle at the beginning of the school year. File away most of the activities and get them out during the correct season/ holiday OR whenever students are ready. This center will challenge student at every level within their base ten understanding within first grade. Each center gets a little harder as the year progresses, so students will be challenged throughout the year.

Teach students your expectations for how they should work at the center. I have use this as a cover it/ clip it activity that students complete at their table, but it can also be used in a write-the-room format if you prefer.

This bundle will make prepping for centers so easy because students already know your expectations and can figure out how to do each new activity based on the knowledge they gained from the previous one.

Understand that the two digits of a two-digit number represent amounts of tens and ones. Understand the following as special cases:
10 can be thought of as a bundle of ten ones - called a “ten.”
The numbers from 11 to 19 are composed of a ten and one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, or nine ones.
The numbers 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90 refer to one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, or nine tens (and 0 ones).
Add within 100, including adding a two-digit number and a one-digit number, and adding a two-digit number and a multiple of 10, using concrete models or drawings and strategies based on place value, properties of operations, and/or the relationship between addition and subtraction; relate the strategy to a written method and explain the reasoning used. Understand that in adding two-digit numbers, one adds tens and tens, ones and ones; and sometimes it is necessary to compose a ten.
