This is a making connections continuum, similar to a rubric, used to help students develop meaningful text-to-self, text-to-text, and text-to-world connections. Attached are sample connections that students can use to practice placing on the continuum. These connections come from stories such as "Chrysanthemum," "The Stories Julian Tells," "The Witches," and "Little Mama Forgets."
