It brings me great joy to dream up new lessons for my students, and watch them grow and learn. I have over 18 years of teaching experience with elementary and middle school students, and have taught classes in English, creative writing, drama, and social studies. I'm currently working on a creative writing workshop series entitled, Stories-Poems-Plays.
I have a cross-curricular, hands-on style of teaching. Performing and visual arts are important components to many of my lessons. When I include art, music, and movement into my lessons, whether it be history, grammar, or English literature, my students connect to the material in a more meaningful way. I believe that movement in the classroom also enhances creativity, attention and mindfulness- all necessary tools in teaching and in lesson planning.
