I have been teaching for 16 years - six years as a 5th grade teacher and eleven as a Media Specialist in a tiny school district in rural Illinois. Growing up, I wasn't a huge fan of reading. It wasn't until I was much older that I discovered the magic and whimsy books held. I strive to make reading enjoyable and fun - to show my students that you can be swept away and taken to new worlds when you open a book. Reading is a place to escape the world and become someone else. It is one of life's most valuable gifts and I'm blessed to be in a profession that promotes creativity, imagination, and dreams.

A little about me....I live in Illinois with my three adorable puppies Ollie, Penny, and Louie. I have many hobbies. Too many at times, I must admit. Which is why I have named my store "The Dogeared Librarian". I am constantly coming up with new ideas and trying new things - and bending down the corners in the book of life. When I am not teaching, I enjoy scrapbooking, photography, traveling, music, cooking, knitting, crochet....the list is endless ;) I also volunteer for a shelter in the Chicago suburbs and have been a foster mama to some very amazing souls. My life has been very rewarding and I am blessed to have family and friends who support my dreams in my crazy dogeared life!
