I have been teaching for the past 21 years in grades K-8 and 9th/11th. I began my teaching career with first graders, and I have taught either as a resource teacher or classroom teacher in each grade from kindergarten through fifth, and have taught science, literature, theatre, and history in upper grades. Currently I am teaching third grade.
My classroom is a hands-on classroom. Through labs, games, simulations, and other activities, my students learn by experiencing.

My undergraduate degree is in Communications and Theatre from Lee University in Cleveland, TN, which I completed in 2000. After a search for jobs in this field, I chose to return to school to pursue a degree in Education, which was originally my major when I first started college. I returned to Lee University and completed a Master of Arts in Teaching degree in 2003.
In addition to teaching, my passion is working/traveling overseas. I have traveled to Honduras on several occasions to work with a hospital and school and hope to return in the future. I tutor after school and work with the children at my church. I have two doggy children and two human children!
