I have been teaching High School Spanish for Spanish Heritage Speakers, Non-heritage speakers and Dual Language Immersion students for about 7 years. I have also been a club adviser for more than 5 years for The Spanish Honor Society at our high school. I led my department as Department Chair for 3 years.
I would describe my teaching style as that of a facilitator, but also of a story teller. I enjoy engaging my students through the power reflective teaching and learning. Through story telling students learn to process their thoughts and ideas with the end goal of applying their academic skills.

I earned my Bachelor's Degree at UCR with a double majored in Spanish Linguistics and Latin American Studies and I also received my Masters in Education at the University of California Riverside with an emphasis in Teaching a World Language.
I am a first generation college educated Latina. My parents were born in El Salvador and I was born and raised in Santa Ana, California. I love teaching and it was my career goal since I was 5 years old. I truly believe that through the power of education we can move mountains.
