I am going on my 9th year as a Family and Consumer Science teacher at a high school. I have taught Human Services, Lifetime nutrition and wellness, Principles of Hospitality and Tourism, Human Growth, Interpersonal Studies, Dollars and Sense, and Culinary Arts. I have helped write a curriculum, been mentors for new teachers and have been advisors for students in multiple organizations.
I am a firm believer that if a teacher is doing more work than the student then something needs to change. My teaching style would have to be cooperative learning. I plan lessons that incorporate group work and discussions that will build a community within the classroom.

I went to Texas State University in San Marcos and went into education with a focus in Human Services. I currently work at a high school as a Family and Consumer Science teacher. Since working, I have learned new strategies, techniques and some great lessons from veteran teachers.
