Sarah Stockton Resources

Sarah Stockton is currently an Instructional Designer and online facilitator. Previously, she was the Vocal Music Director at Walled Lake Western in Walled Lake, Michigan. Before joining WLW in 2018, Ms. Stockton was the Vocal Music Director at Grand Blanc High School since 2006 and choir teacher at Grand Blanc West Middle School since 2009. Mrs. Stockton was also previously the Artistic director for the New Century Chorale, an adult community choir in the Grand Blanc area from 2009-2018. Sarah is an active Choral Clinician and Adjudicator. She enjoys hearing soloists and choirs from around the state of Michigan!

Sarah believes in creating a safe and fun space for students to explore their voices. She strives to teach the whole child and support them during their adolescent years.

Sarah Stockton was selected as the 2021 Michigan Schools Vocal Music Association Teacher of the Year. She has previously served as district manager and currently serves as President-Elect. She and was selected as the 2020 6-7-8 SA Honors Choir for MSVMA. In 2018, Sarah was honored to become a choral staff member for the Michigan Ambassadors of Music. She traveled to England, France, Switzerland, Austria, Italy, Liechtenstein, and Germany during the summer of 2019. Previously, Mrs. Stockton was nominated for the Grand Blanc Community Schools Teacher of the Year in 2017 and 2017, and was selected as the 2020 6-7-8 SA Honors Choir for the Michigan Schools Vocal Music Association. Sarah has presented at state-level music conferences, prepared choirs for Carnegie Hall, and her choirs consistently earn high marks in district and state level choir festivals.

Sarah holds a Master of Music in Choral Conducting from Michigan State University, studying under David Rayl and Jonathan Reed, and a Bachelor of Music Education from Central Michigan University. Her mentor, Dr. Nina Nash-Robertson (CMU) passed away in 2018, but has made a lasting impact on her teaching.
