Right now I work at a private practice with a variety of clients, as well as at a specialized school and therapy centre for children with complex communication needs.
My therapy is child-led and play-based, following a neurodiversity approach, focused on improving quality of life and what works best for a child and their family, and involves a healthy dose of humour - all informed by the fact that children are just small people worthy of mutual respect.
I am a grant recipient as the developer of a sensory play centre, through RBC Future Launch and the North Grenville Community Fund. I developed a successful proposal and obtained a grant of $15,000 value to construct a sensory play centre. The centre has been implemented in a local church and is outfitted with specialized sensory equipment which I researched and selected in order to provide a play and social space for children with autism and other disabilities in the community.
