I have been teaching for 30 years in Southern California. After teaching first grade for two years, I switched over to Kindergarten and that is where I have been ever since! Five years ago, California changed the cut off date for K's to September 2nd, so a new "grade" began called Transitional Kindergarten. This is for the September, October and November babies and is more of a Developmental Kindergarten. I changed over to "TK" and am loving it!

At the age of 5, I graduated from Kindergarten as an honor roll child, with all pluses and no checks. Later, I graduated from college as a Communications: Theater major. During my undergraduate years, I was extremely interested in children's theater, however the opportunities were so limited. My junior year I realized that teaching was the way I wanted to go and that is when I began to focus in on education. So I entered the education program and received my credential. In 2006, I finished my Master of Education in Curriculum/Instruction with a focus in Reading.
